Kanae Murakami was born in on of the few hundreds small island in Japan.
She thinks that all the environment, creatures, animals, humans, and cultures surround her are part of the island.
She images the existence of the island, its history and what currently happening and drew it out in her artworks. All the artworks inside the canvas are the memory of the island and her own experiences of living in her hometown.
She hopes she can spread her perception and the beauty of her hometown to the world through her artworks.

She broke the backbone of her teacher when she was still in school and was thrown out by her parents at consequence. Kanae Murakami is a hostess and has basically to drink every night till the sun goes up again. Even if she has a low tolerance for alcohol she pushes herself to drink even more. And she notices herself that her body won’t keep up with this for a very long time.
